To remove

  1. Remove the battery.
  2. Detach the battery's air inlet pipe and main fuse box:

    • Detach the battery's air inlet pipe (A).
    • Cars with petrol engine:  Press in the catch and move aside the fuse box in front of the battery.
  3. Undo the catches (A) and move aside the heat shield, letting any components remain on the heat shield.

  4. Remove the bottom of the battery cover:

    • Cars with theft protection:  Undo the cable tie of the bonnet switch (A) from the battery cover.
    • Undo any wiring harness clips (B) from the battery cover.
    • Remove the screws (C) and lift out the bottom of the battery cover.
