Preliminary Procedure Remove the rear catalytic converter. Refer to EXHAUST FRONT PIPE REPLACEMENT (LBY/A20DTR) , EXHAUST FRONT PIPE REPLACEMENT (LLU/A16LET) , EXHAUST FRONT PIPE REPLACEMENT (LBS/A20DTH) or EXHAUST FRONT PIPE REPLACEMENT (LHU/A20NFT, LAU/A28NER) . Remove the muffler. Refer to EXHAUST MUFFLER REPLACEMENT (LAU/A28NER) , EXHAUST MUFFLER REPLACEMENT (SPARE PART) , EXHAUST MUFFLER REPLACEMENT (LBY/A20DTR) , EXHAUST MUFFLER REPLACEMENT (LBS/A20DTH) or EXHAUST MUFFLER REPLACEMENT (LHU/A20NFT, LLU/A16LET) .
1	Support Bearing Mounting Bolt (Qty: 4) Refer to FASTENER CAUTION . Procedure Mark up the position with spray paint, to avoid vibrations after installation. Support with a column jack and DT-49035 holder. Tighten 20 Nm (15 lb ft) Special Tools DT-49035 Cardan Holder, Propeller Shaft For equivalent regional tools, refer to SPECIAL TOOLS .
2	Rear Differential Drive Flange Bolt (Qty: 6) Procedure Use the DT-49147 support to hold the flange. Use the DT-49064 puller if the propeller shaft is stuck in the flange. Start with one bolt in the unthreaded hole, turn the puller a to the next hole and proceed with the next bolt. Rinse the threads with a screw tap M8 x 1, 25 Apply locking agent on the bolts. Refer to ADHESIVES, FLUIDS, LUBRICANTS, AND SEALERS . Tighten 30 Nm (22 lb ft) Special Tools DT-49147 Support DT-49064 Puller For equivalent regional tools, refer to SPECIAL TOOLS .
3	Propeller Shaft Procedure Use the removal tool DT-49030 in two steps. In order to loosen the joint completely it may be necessary to place a wood block between the tool and flange. Apply grease on the spline. Refer to ADHESIVES, FLUIDS, LUBRICANTS, AND SEALERS . Special Tools DT-49030 Fork, Cardan Removal For equivalent regional tools, refer to SPECIAL TOOLS .
