Circuit/System Verification
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the connector on the K60 steering column lock control module.
- Measure the resistance between pins 6 and 7 in the female connector. The value should be less than 10 Ω.
==> If the resistance is higher than 10 Ω, check the circuit for an open circuit or high resistance.
- Connect the test lamp between pin 5 and ground. Check that the test lamp illuminates.
==> If the lamp does not illuminate, check the circuit for a short to battery or an open circuit/high resistance.
- Connect a test lamp between pin 3 in the female connector and ground, the lamp should illuminate.
==> If the lamp does not illuminate, check the circuit for a short to battery or an open circuit/high resistance.
- Measure the voltage between pin 4 and ground. The voltage should be less than 0.3 V.
==> If the voltage is higher than 0.3 V, check the circuit for a short to battery.
- Disconnect the connector on the K84 keyless entry control module.
- Measure the resistance between pin 4 on the K60 steering column lock control module and pin 1 on the K84 keyless entry control module. The resistance should not exceed 5 Ω.
==> If the resistance is higher than 5 Ω, check the circuit for an open circuit or high resistance.
- If all the test results are normal, test or replace the K60 steering column lock control module. If the DTC returns, replace the K84 keyless entry control module
