Relay Test

  1. Ignition OFF, remove the KR73 RUN/CRANK relay.
  2. Measure the resistance between pins 2 (85) and 1 (86). The value should be between 60 and 200 Ω.

    ==> If the resistance is outside the range, replace the KR73 RUN/CRANK relay.

  3. The resistance should be infinite between the following pins:
    • 3 (30) and 1 (86)
    • 3 (30) and 5 (87)
    • 3 (30) and 2 (85)
    • 2 (85) and 5 (87)
  4. Measure the resistance between pins 3 (30) and 4 (87A). The value should be less than 2 Ω.

    ==> If the resistance is higher than 2 Ω, replace the KR73 RUN/CRANK relay.

  5. Bridge with a 3 A fuse between pin 2 (85) and B+. Bridge between pin 1 (86) and ground. Measure the resistance between pins 3 (30) and 4 (87A). The value should be less than 2 Ω.

    ==> If the resistance is higher than 2 Ω, replace the KR73 RUN/CRANK relay.
