Installation Procedure

Prepare all attachment surfaces (1) as necessary.

Apply bodywork repair through structural adhesive to body. Refer to STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE BODY REPAIRS .
Position the body side outer panel extension on the vehicle.

Verify the fit of the body side outer panel extension.
Clamp the body side outer panel extension into position.
NOTE: Refer to WELDED, BRAZED, AND RIVETED JOINT SPECIFICATIONS .

Spot weld (1) the body side outer panel extension accordingly.

Apply the sealers and anti-corrosion materials to the repair area, as necessary. Refer to ANTI-CORROSION TREATMENT AND REPAIR (BASE) or ANTI-CORROSION TREATMENT AND REPAIR (CORROSION PROTECTION) .
Install the body side outer panel. Refer to BODY SIDE OUTER PANEL REPLACEMENT or install the quarter outer panel. Refer to QUARTER OUTER PANEL REPLACEMENT .
Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECTION AND CONNECTION .
Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR DISABLING AND ENABLING .
