Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition OFF, remove the KR73 RUN/CRANK relay.
  2. Ignition ON, connect a test lamp between pin 4 (87A) and ground. Check that the test lamp does not illuminate.

==> If the test lamp illuminates, test the circuit for a short to battery. If the test values are normal, replace the K60 steering column lock control module.

  3. Connect the test lamp between pin 3 (30) and ground. Check that the test lamp illuminates.

==> If the lamp does not illuminate, check the circuit for an open circuit or high resistance.

  4. Ignition OFF, disconnect the connector to the K60 steering column lock control module.
  5. Connect a test lamp between pin 3 and ground.
  6. Ignition ON, bridge with a 5 A fuse between pins 3 (30) and 4 (87A). Check that the test lamp illuminates.

==> If the test lamp does not light and the fuse is intact, check the circuit for break/high resistance.

==> If the test lamp does not illuminate and the fuse has blown, test the circuit for a short to ground. If the test result is normal, replace the K60 steering column lock control module.

  7. If all the test results are normal, check or replace the RUN/CRANK relay KR73
