Circuit/System Verification
- Ignition OFF, remove the KR73 RUN/CRANK relay.
- Ignition ON, connect a test lamp between pin 4 (87A) and ground. Check that the test lamp does not illuminate.
==> If the test lamp illuminates, test the circuit for a short to battery. If the test values are normal, replace the K60 steering column lock control module.
- Connect the test lamp between pin 3 (30) and ground. Check that the test lamp illuminates.
==> If the lamp does not illuminate, check the circuit for an open circuit or high resistance.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the connector to the K60 steering column lock control module.
- Connect a test lamp between pin 3 and ground.
- Ignition ON, bridge with a 5 A fuse between pins 3 (30) and 4 (87A). Check that the test lamp illuminates.
==> If the test lamp does not light and the fuse is intact, check the circuit for break/high resistance.
==> If the test lamp does not illuminate and the fuse has blown, test the circuit for a short to ground. If the test result is normal, replace the K60 steering column lock control module.
- If all the test results are normal, check or replace the RUN/CRANK relay KR73
