Programming existing BCM

Proceed as follows to program and configure an existing BCM:

  1. Open the Service Programming System (SPS) with a scan tool and follow the instructions on the screen. See SERVICE PROGRAMMING SYSTEM (SPS) .
  2. Select BCM body control module - Programming on the monitoring screen with SPS support and follow the instructions on the screen.
  3. NOTE: When programming the tyre pressure sensor during BCM installation, J-46079 scan tool for tyre pressure monitoring must be used to activate the respective tyre pressure sensor.

Select BCM Body Control Module - Installation on the monitoring screen with SPS support and follow the instructions on the screen.

  4. Check whether there are additional messages with further calibration instructions on the Driver Information Centre (DIC). If there are no further instructions on the Driver Information Centre (DIC), programming is complete.

If BCM does not accept the program, check that all connections for the scan tool and BCM are secure.

NOTE: Once programming is complete, perform the following to prevent incorrect diagnostics in the future:
  1. Switch off the ignition for 10 seconds.
  2. Open and close the door.
  3. Connect the scan tool to the data link connector.
  4. Ignition ON, with the engine OFF
  5. Clear all DTCs from all control units using a scan tool.
