Body Control Module, Programming and Setting: Notes

The body control module (BCM) must be programmed with the correct calibration software. The BCM stores and uses this information. If the module is not configured with the correct calibration software, the BCM cannot control all car functions correctly.

Make sure that the following conditions exist to prepare for BCM programming.

  1. The battery is fully charged.
  2. The MDI data link connector is secure.
  3. The scan tool is loaded with the latest software version.
  4. All disconnected control modules and other units have been reconnected securely.
  5. You have read through the entire procedure before continuing.

Do not reprogram the body control module if you are not following a service procedure or a service bulletin.
