BCM Replacement and Programming

Proceed as follows to program and configure a BCM:

  1. Open the Service Programming System (SPS) with a scan tool and follow the instructions on the screen. See SERVICE PROGRAMMING SYSTEM (SPS) .
  2. Select BCM body control module - Programming on the monitoring screen with SPS support and follow the instructions on the screen.
  3. Perform the following for the right type of ignition system before continuing with the next step:
    • Key ignition system: Key in ignition. Other keys to the car must be at least 3 metres from the car.
    • Press the start system button: The remote control key must sit in the console's programming pocket. You can display info on the exact position of the pocket using the Help button in the window SPS Immobilizer Setup. All other remote control keys must be at least 3 metres from the car.
  4. NOTE: The following programming steps can take between 10 and 12 minutes and it may seem like the process has stopped during that time. This is a normal security timeout response. Do not restart programming.

In the SPS Supported Controllers window, select IMMO Immobilizer Learn - Setup. In the next window, select Body Control Module IMMO Learn with Existing Transponder or Remote Key and follow the instructions in the window. Once the immobilizer is programmed, press the unlock button on the remote control key to exit immobilizer programming mode.

  5. NOTE: When programming the tyre pressure sensor during BCM installation, J-46079 scan tool for tyre pressure monitoring can be used to activate the respective tyre pressure sensor. For programming without special tools, see Programming Tyre Pressure Monitoring Sensor.

Select BCM Body Control Module - Installation on the monitoring screen with SPS support and follow the instructions on the screen.

  6. Check whether there are additional messages with further calibration instructions on the Driver Information Centre (DIC). If there are no further instructions on the Driver Information Centre (DIC), programming is complete.
