To remove
- Remove the battery cover and disconnect the negative battery cable.

- Raise the car.
- Remove the lower engine cover.

- Place a receptacle under the car, connect a hose to the radiator and drain the coolant.
- Remove the plastic nuts from the wheel arch liner.

- Move aside the wheel arch liner, unload the belt tensioner and take off the belt (mark the belt direction). Use 83 96 095 UNLOADING TOOL, BELT CIRCUIT B207E/L .
- Lower the car.
- Remove the upper engine cover.

- Unplug the connectors from the engine control module.

- Remove the engine control module.

- Detach the air hose from the air filter housing.

- Remove the cover of the air filter housing.
- Remove the air filter.

- Unplug the connector from the pressure sensor.

- Detach the intake air pipe from the air filter housing and lift up the filter housing.
- Detach the coolant hose from the engine and radiator. Bend it aside.

- Detach the vent hose from the air hose to the throttle body and loosen the fastener in the camshaft cover.

- Bend aside the vent hose.
- Detach the generator connections.
- Remove the generator retaining bolts.
- Lift up the generator.
