Programming, Anti-theft protection: General: Notes

The anti-theft protection function is controlled by TWICE, which is programmed from the control module supplier. However, this basic programming cannot satisfy the requirements of all markets (countries) and additional programming may be needed during manufacture of the car. This is called " FACTORY PROGRAMMING  "  .

When the car has been delivered to a certain market, it may be necessary to replace TWICE or make other changes to the system. Under such circumstances it must be possible to carry out "Aftermarket programming  ".
