To remove

Remove the battery cover and disconnect the negative battery cable.

Raise the car.
Remove the lower engine cover.

Place a receptacle under the car, connect a hose to the radiator and drain the coolant.
Remove the plastic nuts from the wheel arch liner.

Move aside the wheel arch liner, unload the belt tensioner and take off the belt (mark the belt direction). Use 83 96 095 UNLOADING TOOL, BELT CIRCUIT B207E/L .
Lower the car.
Remove the upper engine cover.

Unplug the connectors from the engine control module.

Remove the engine control module.

Detach the air hose from the air filter housing.

Remove the cover of the air filter housing.
Remove the air filter.

Unplug the connector from the pressure sensor.

Detach the intake air pipe from the air filter housing and lift up the filter housing.
Detach the coolant hose from the engine and radiator. Bend it aside.

Detach the vent hose from the air hose to the throttle body and loosen the fastener in the camshaft cover.

Bend aside the vent hose.
Detach the generator connections.
Remove the generator retaining bolts.
Lift up the generator; see below image.
