Checking Fuel Pressure: Checks

  1. Remove the engine cover.
  2. Unscrew the valve cap. Connect pressure measuring equipment: 83 93 852 Pressure measuring equipment, fuel pressure and oil pressure, 83 94 744 Fuel pressure testing adapter and 83 95 121 Extension, fuel pressure testing adapter, V6. The adapter is connected "secured" to the extension. "Unsecure" the adapter.

  3. Activate the fuel pump module with the diagnostic tool.

  4. Take a reading from the measuring equipment.

    System pressure upon activation

    The following values are approximate and may vary.
    1 1.9
    2 2.0
    3 2.3-2.6
    4 2.5-3.3
    5 2.7-4.0
    6 2.8-4.8
    7 2.8-4.8
    8 2.9-4.9
    9 2.9-4.9
    10 2.9-4.9
  5. Switch off the fuel pump using the diagnostics tool.
  6. "Safety on" the adapter and remove the pressure measuring equipment from the service nipple. Wipe up any fuel spill with a rag.

  7. Fit the engine cover.
