Remote Control: Function

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Saab 9-5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Point the remote control towards the car. When a button is pressed, the remote control sends a control signal which is received by the remote control receiver unit. The range is approx. 5-15 meters.

The signal from the remote control is a fixed identification code (each remote control has its own code) and a "rolling code", which is changed each time a button is pressed.

NOTE: Remote maneuvering also works inside the car. Therefore, grip the key in such a way that you avoid unintentionally pressing the button when inserting, turning or removing the key in the ignition switch.
Otherwise, you could lock the doors and/or unlock the boot lid.
