To remove
IMPORTANT:
When changing track rods, the steering gear must lie on a stable surface and must not be loaded. Otherwise the pinion and rack can be damaged.
- Remove the steering gear, see TO REMOVE .
- Clean and undo the dust excluder clips, and remove the dust excluder.NOTE: There is only a key grip on the pinion side of the steering gear.
When changing the track rod on the other side, the dust excluder on the pinion side must be removed so that the key grip is accessible. - Hold the rack in place with a 21 mm open spanner and unscrew the track rod using CLAW FOOT SPANNER 89 96 837 .
