To fit

  1. Make sure the rubber plug is inserted in the ESP unit's bracket on the structural member.
  2. Fit the ESP unit.

    Tightening torque: 24 Nm (18 lbf ft)

  3. Fit the brake pipes that run to the wheel cylinders. Thread the nipples by hand.
  4. Tighten the nipples with a brake pipe wrench.

    Tightening torque: 15 Nm (11 lbf ft) 

    Fit the brake pipes that run to the master cylinder.

    Tightening torque: 15 Nm (11 lbf ft) 

  5. Plug in the connector.

  6. Fit the electrical distribution unit.
  7. V6 diesel engine:  Fit the turbocharger heat shield.
  8. Bleed the brake system, see BLEEDING THE BRAKE SYSTEM .
  9. If the unit is changed:  Connect the diagnostic tool and configure the unit.
  10. Perform SPARE PARTS PROGRAMMING, ESP .
