SPS and Tech2
BACKGROUND
This is information on what is applicable when using different memory cards for the software for Tech2 and which software must be used for SPS programming.
From and including the launch of the 9-3 Sport Sedan a bigger memory card (32Mb) is required in Tech2 to store all the information. Unless otherwise stated, the latest software must be used.
TECH2 PROCEDURE
- CandiBox must only be used for the 9-3 Sport Sedan. If CandiBox is used for the 900, 9000, 9-3 and 9-5 then this can damage the electronics in the car.
- Software 43.000 is the last version that can be used with a 10Mb memory card.NOTE: The use of two memory cards is recommended - one used for 43.000 and one used for the new software.
- 43.000 can be used with both 10Mb and 32Mb memory cards.
- 43.000 is primarily designed for the Saab 900 and Saab 9000.
- Following replacement of the ACC panel in the Saab 9-5 a SID message is displayed regarding ACC programming. Spare Part Programming by the ACC panel must then be carried out using the latest software.
SPS PROCEDURE
- Tech 2 software 43.000 must be used for SPS programming of T7. As model year 03 is not in this software, model year 02 must be selected for SPS programming. These instructions apply until other information is provided.
- For SPS programming of other systems the latest software for Tech 2 must be used.
- For SPS programming of TCM and ECD (V6 diesel) in Saab 9-5 fuse 29 (brake system) must be removed before programming is started. (TCS/ESP disrupts P-bus communication.)
IRIS PROCEDURE
- It is absolutely essential to check IRIS/Intranet regularly to keep updated with both the latest software and information for Tech 2 and the SPS database.
- Note! The update files must always be loaded in the correct order after each new TIS 2000 CD issue.
