Check Engine Start Failure

Ask customer when and how trouble occurred using an interview check list. See CHECK LIST FOR INTERVIEW .

Start engine.

Does engine start? 

YES 

Check if MIL is on. If MIL is on, go to CHECK ILLUMINATION OF MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT . If MIL is not on, go to CHECK INDICATION OF DTC ON DISPLAY .

NO 

Perform inspection using DIAGNOSTICS FOR ENGINE STARTING FAILURE .
