To fit
- Clean the engine block and sump sealing surfaces. Remove any contaminants in the oil sump.
- Place a 2 mm thick bead 83 95 691 Flange sealant on the oil sump sealing surface and on the connection to the oil sieve suction pipe.
- Carefully fit the oil sump so that the sealant is not scraped off.
Tightening torque, oil sump 22 Nm (16 lbf ft) .
Tightening torque, screw to gearbox 70 Nm (52 lbf ft)
- Up to M04 inclusive:
Fit the front torque arm bolts to the oil sump and tighten the rear bolt.
Tightening torque, front bolts 37 Nm (27 lbf ft)
Tightening torque, front bolts 70 Nm +90° (52 lbf ft +90°)
- Fit the AC compressor lower fixing bolt.
Tightening torque 24 Nm (18 lbf ft)
- Replace the charge air pipe.
- Plug in the oil pressure switch connector.
- Fit the oil plug with a new O-ring. CV:
Fit Chassis reinforcement, front supporting frame, CV
Tightening torque 25 Nm (18 lbf ft) .
- Fit a new fixing clip to the connector.
- Lower the car slightly and fit the right wing liner.
- Refit the right front wheel and lower the car fully. See WHEEL
.
Tightening torque 110 Nm (81 lbf ft)
- Remove the connector's fastening clip and fit the dipstick tube with new O-rings lubricated with Vaseline, Kluber Syntheso Pro AA2.
- Attach the connector clips to the oil dipstick tube. Plug in the connector.
- Fit the vent line clips to the oil dipstick tube.
- Fit the dipstick.

- Fill with engine oil as specified.
- Connect an exhaust extractor and start the engine. Switch off the engine and wait 2-5 minutes. Check the oil level and adjust if necessary.
- Fit the upper engine cover.
