Abs, TCS & Esp (Anti-Lock Brake, Traction Control Systems & Electronic Stabilizer Program) Unit With Control Module: Installation

  1. Install the ABS unit. It may be necessary to insert a screwdriver between the bracket and the wheel housing and pry carefully in order to install the outer nut. See Figure.
  2. Plug in the ESP unit connector for the pressure sensor. See Figure.
    NOTE: Start with the rear brake pipes and tighten one union by hand first and then with a spanner before starting with the next.
  3. Remove the plugs and install the brake pipes. Tighten the brake pipe unions by hand first and then with a spanner. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. On manual transmission equipped models, attach the clutch fluid hose to the brake fluid reservoir. Install the hose clip upwards.
  5. Plug in the connector.
  6. Install the electrical distribution unit. See Figure.
  7. Install the battery and the battery cover.
  8. If the TC/ABS or ESP control modules have been replaced, the control modules must be configured. They can be programmed with the Tech 2. Program TC/ABS module to engine/transmission configuration. Program ESP module to chassis type. Calibrate SAS (steering wheel angle sensor), as necessary. See CALIBRATION OF STEERING WHEEL ANGLE SENSOR .
  9. Bleed the brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
  10. Test the brakes.
