IMPORTANT:
Scrupulous cleanliness is of the utmost importance when working on the fuel rail and injectors. Blow clean with compressed air.
- Reduce fuel pressure by removing fuel pump fuse no. 19 while the engine is idling. Turn off the ignition once the engine has stopped and replace the fuse.
- Remove the engine cover.
- Detach the turbo pressure hose from the throttle body.
- Detach the throttle cable from the throttle disc and remove the throttle body from the intake manifold. Lift away the throttle body carefully.
- Remove the upper intake manifold. Plug the passageways to prevent dirt from entering.
- Detach the wires from the fuel rail.
- Detach the fuel connections. Keep an absorbent cloth or paper nearby to take care of any fuel spills.
- Detach the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator.
- Blow clean around the valves with compressed air and remove the fuel rail and injectors.
IMPORTANT: Secure each injector clip with a narrow cable tie. Make sure that it is correctly fitted and then tighten it. If this is not done, the injectors could come loose from the fuel rail during the flow test.
- Plug the holes for the injectors.
