Gearbox mating face 

1. End cover

The gearbox has only two pairs of mating faces. The mating faces between the clutch housing and the gear case are sealed with sealant and the mating faces between the gear case and the end cover are sealed with a gasket. Ventilation and breathing are via a "labyrinth" in the upper part of the gear case which also houses a filter (sintered compact) to keep out dirt and moisture.
