First bow: Fitting

  1. Fit the left lock. Make sure that the front of the lock is positioned directly in front of the lug, and that the lock is centered in the middle of the lug. Fit the right lock in the same way.

    Check the distance between the outer edges of the latch hooks. It should be 822 mm. Correct the distance by adjusting the right  latch until the distance 822 mm is obtained.

  2. With assistance, fit the first bow to the soft top mechanism. Tighten the four retaining screws.
  3. Fit the control linkage in the front rail on the first bow. Lock the soft top to the windscreen frame and tighten the nuts securing the lock mechanism.

  5. Move the soft top to half open position. Position the soft top support (16) 82 93 144 so that the soft top is secured in the half open position.
  6. Pop rivet the side cables
  7. Fit new double-backed tape on the first bow.

    Stretch the outer roof fabric and fold it over the first bow.

  8. Fasten the headlining to the first bow.

  10. Fit the pins for the handle.
  11. Fit the plastic cover on the first bow.
  12. Fit the handle and the upholstery by the handle.
  13. Refit the retainer strip on the first bow.
    IMPORTANT: Take care so that the magnets for the lock are not damaged.
  14. Fit the front seal retainers.
  15. Lubricate the seals with soapy water. Position the outer edge in the groove and press in the seal. Start from the back and work towards the front. Fit the front screw.

  17. Connect the diagnostics tool and erase any diagnostic trouble code.
  18. Check so that there is no water leakage by spraying water from above at an angle.
