Adjustment principles

The aim of adjusting is to achieve a good fit between the soft top and the side windows, also to ensure that the soft top, fifth bow and the soft top cover all lock without malfunctions. Adjusting one component may affect a component which has already been adjusted. The condition for successful adjustment work is that the work begins at a correctly adjusted point and that the work is systematic. Saab 9-3 can be divided into three main sections with respect to adjustments:

When these areas are adjusted, proceed with adjustment of the windows and doors, if needed.

IMPORTANT: A specific work procedure should be adhered to in these three adjustment areas. This work procedure is described on the next page, and on the following pages, each individual adjustment is described in detail.
