Front Hub Assembly: Removal

  1. Raise the car.
  2. Remove the wheel.
  3. Remove the hub nut.
  4. Using Driveshaft Puller (89-96-951), press in the drive shaft so that it loosens from the hub.
  5. Remove the brake rotor. See FRONT BRAKE ROTOR .
  6. Remove the wheel sensor connection. See Fig 1.
  7. Remove the ball joint bolt securing the suspension arm to the steering knuckle.
  8. Pull out the ball joint pin.
  9. Place a wedge between the suspension arm and the anti-roll bar in order to hold down the suspension arm.
    NOTE: Take care that the inner universal joint does not separate.
  10. Pull the drive shaft out from the hub and lift the hub and steering knuckle from the shaft.
  11. Remove the 3 bolts from the hub. Lift off the hub and the brake shield.
