All the Saab 9-3 cars are delivered with a remote control. On delivery, there are 2 keys with integrated remote control for each car. It is used to operate the central locking system, as a backup for the immobilizer and to arm/disarm the anti-theft alarm.

There are three versions of the remote control with different transmitting frequencies and ranges.
