Solenoid valve SL, for Lock-up: Notes

Solenoid valve SL is located in the valve housing, which is mounted on the transmission casing. It controls the engagement of the lock-up function, so that transmission takes place mechanically through the torque converter when the solenoid is activated.

The solenoid is grounded via its casing directly to the transmission casing and is connected to control module pin 2, which activates it by energizing it with B+. An un-energized valve is open.

The power supply is controlled by the control module, which sends signals to engage or disengage lock-up with respect to speed, throttle position and the selected driving program.
