To remove

  1. Remove the air filter unit.

    Engine with turbocharger:  Remove the hose and cover the turbo pipe.

    Viggen RHD:  Remove the brace between the suspension strut towers.

  2. Relieve the belt tensioner of tension (use a ratchet handle or extension bar 1/2") and pry the belt off the pump pulley.

  3. Clamp the hose with a pair of pinch-off pliers, part no. 30 07 739. Detach the hose from the pump. Use a rag to soak up the fluid that runs out.
  4. Detach the delivery pipe with bracket and nipple from the pump.
  5. Remove the pump bolts and remove the pump. (Viggen has a through-bolt with nut.)
  6. Drain the fluid from the pump.
