To remove
- Raise the car and remove the sound insulation, right-hand spoiler lower section and the right-hand lower wing liner.
- Relieve the belt tensioner of tension and remove the belt pulley from the pump. Pry the engine slightly to the left in order to remove the pulley.
- Lower the car
- Remove the cover on the engine.
- Remove the air filter assembly.
- Place a container under the car.
- Clean and detach the inlet hose from the pump and let the fluid run down into the container. Point the hose at the container.WARNING: Power steering fluid must not get onto the belt. Cover the pulleys.
- Remove the delivery hose's retaining screw (which also holds the dipstick tube) from the engine
- Detach the connection from the pump using special tool No. 89 96 803. See 1:3 SPECIAL TOOLS .
- Remove the power steering pump carefully so that loose parts of the pump do not fall out.
