Throttle Body: Installation

    NOTE: The limp-home solenoid will be activated when the ignition is turned on. The limp-home mechanism must therefore be reset after turning on the ignition.
  1. Install the lower vacuum hose. See Fig 1 .
  2. Install the coolant hoses and remove the clamps.
  3. Position the throttle body and screw it on with the 3 retaining screws. Install a NEW seal if necessary and lubricate it with a thin coat of petroleum jelly (Vaseline).
  4. Attach the hose under the limp-home solenoid and install the clip.
  5. Tighten the 3 throttle body retaining screws. See Fig 2 .
  6. Spray the throttle body 10-pin connector with Kontakt 61 contact cleaner and plug it in.
  7. Spray the limp-home solenoid connector with Kontakt 61 contact cleaner. Plug in the connector and install the rubber seal.
  8. Fasten the accelerator pedal wire to the throttle body pedal arm.
  9. Attach the hose for the bypass valve.
  10. Install the cover on the throttle body pedal arm. See Fig 3 .
  11. Install the turbo delivery pipe complete with bypass pipe and bypass valve. See Fig 4 . Connect the venturi hose.
  12. Start the engine and make sure all the connections are tight. Top up with coolant as necessary.
  13. Install the top engine cover. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

  1. Position the throttle body and screw it on with the 3 retaining screws. Install a NEW seal if necessary and lubricate it with a thin coat of petroleum jelly (Vasoline). See Fig 1 .
  2. Install the hose under the limp home solenoid and install the clip.
  3. Tighten the 3 throttle body retaining screws. See Fig 2 .
  4. Spray the throttle body 10-pin connector with Kontakt 61 contact cleaner and plug it in.
  5. Spray the limp-home solenoid connector with Kontakt 61 contact cleaner. Plug in the connector and install the rubber seal.
  6. Fasten the accelerator pedal wire to the throttle body pedal arm.
  7. Install the lower vacuum hose. See Fig 3 .
  8. Install the charge air bypass valve hose and the two preheating hoses.
  9. Remove the clips on the two coolant hoses to the throttle body. See Fig 4 .
  10. Install the cover on the throttle body pedal arm. See Fig 5 .
  11. Start the engine and make sure all the connections are tight. Top up with coolant as necessary.
  12. NOTE: The limp-home solenoid will be activated when the ignition is turned on. The limp-home mechanism must therefore be reset after turning on the ignition.
  13. Re-install the engine cover. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

  1. Position the throttle body and screw it on with the 3 retaining screws. Install a NEW seal if necessary and apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly (Vaseline). See Fig 1 .
  2. Connect the two coolant hoses to the throttle body.
  3. Install the vacuum hose and connection to the purge line under the limp-home solenoid.
  4. NOTE: Spray the connectors with Kontakt 61 contact cleaner.
  5. Plug in the throttle body 10-pin connector.
  6. Plug in the limp-home solenoid connector. See Fig 2 .
  7. Attach the throttle cable to the throttle body pedal arm. Adjust if necessary.
  8. Remove the clamps from the two coolant hoses on the throttle body.
  9. Connect the turbo pressure pipe to the throttle body. See Fig 3 .
  10. Start the engine and make sure all the connections are tight. Top up with coolant if necessary.
  11. NOTE: The ignition is turned on while working on the engine, the limp-home solenoid will be activated. If the ignition is put in position ON, the limp-home mechanism must be reset.
  12. Replace the engine cover.
