DTC P0106: Manifold Absolute Pressure (Map) Sensor Performance Problem
NOTE:
Atmospheric Absolute Pressure (inside ECM), Charge Air Absolute Pressure and Manifold Absolute Pressure sensors should all have the same value of around 100 kPa when checked with TECH 2 scan tool (ignition on, engine off). If any sensor differs by more than 10 kPa from the others, replace sensor and retest system.
DTC P0106 is stored when a very large vacuum leak exists. Check and repair any leaks. If no leaks are found, replace MAP sensor. See Figure, Figure or Figure for MAP sensor and ECM locations. Turn ignition off for at least 5 seconds. Connect TECH 2 scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC) and clear DTCs. Restart engine and increase engine speed to 4000 RPM. Allow engine to return to idle for 1 minute. Recheck for any stored DTCs. If DTC P0106 reappears, substitute known good ECM and retest system. See ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) under COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS in REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article.
