DTC P0107-P0108: Manifold Absolute Pressure (Map) Sensor Circuit
- Disconnect MAP sensor harness connector. See Figure for MAP sensor and ECM locations. Connect SST 86 11 857 test light (see Figure) or equivalent between positive battery terminal and MAP sensor harness connector terminal No. 4 (Black wire). See Figure. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, check for faulty circuit between MAP sensor harness connector terminal No. 4 and ECM harness connector terminals No. 22 (Black wire) and 70 (Black wire). See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS
article. See Figure for ECM terminal identification. Repair as necessary, then go to step 5.NOTE: Circuit between ECM harness connector terminals No. 22 and 70 is completed inside throttle body.
- Turn ignition on. Use DVOM to measure voltage between MAP sensor harness connector terminals No. 2 (White/Black wire) and 4 (Black wire). If voltage reading is between 4.9-5.1 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, check for faulty circuit between MAP sensor harness connector terminal No. 4 (Black wire) and ECM harness connector terminals No. 46 (Grey wire) and 69 (White/Black wire). See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS
article. Repair as necessary, then go to step 5.NOTE: Circuit between Grey wire and White/Black wire is completed inside throttle body.
- Connect TECH 2 scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Select READING: MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE. Scan tool display should be 0 kPa. If reading is as specified, go to next step. If reading is not as specified, repair faulty circuit between MAP sensor harness connector terminal No. 3 and ECM harness connector terminal No. 11 (Blue/Yellow wire). Go to step 5.
- Connect a fused jumper wire between MAP sensor harness connector terminals No. 2 (White/Black wire) and 3 (Blue/Yellow wire). Scan tool display should now read 250 kPa. If reading is as specified, replace MAP sensor. If reading is not as specified, repair faulty circuit between MAP sensor harness connector terminal No. 3 and ECM harness connector terminal No. 11 (Blue/Yellow wire). Go to next step.
- Use scan tool to clear DTCs. Turn ignition off for at least 5 seconds. Restart engine and increase engine speed to 4000 RPM. Allow engine to return to idle for 1 minute. Recheck for any stored DTCs. If no DTCs are present, clear codes in all systems. If P0107 or P0108 reappears, substitute known good ECM and retest system. See ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) under COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS in REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article.
