Hydraulic Pressure Tests
- Ensure transaxle is at normal operating temperature. On Daewoo models, connect pressure gauge to line pressure port. See Fig 1 . On Saab models, connect pressure gauge to line pressure test port C1. See Fig 2 .
- Connect tachometer to vehicle and ensure it is visible to driver. Block all 4 wheels and fully apply parking brake. Start engine and ensure idle speed is adjusted properly.
- Apply service brake and place shift lever in "D" position. Check line pressure at idle and record pressure reading. Accelerate vehicle to stall speed and record line pressure reading. See STALL SPEED SPECIFICATIONS
table.STALL SPEED SPECIFICATIONS

Compare all readings to specification. See appropriate LINE PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS table. If line pressures are not as specified, check throttle cable adjustment. Adjust throttle cable as necessary, and go to next step. See appropriate AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SERVICING article in TRANSMISSION SERVICING.LINE PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS (DAEWOO)

If line pressures are as specified, test is complete. If line pressures are not as specified, internal components in transaxle may be malfunctioning. Check self-diagnostic system for DTCs. See DIAGNOSIS & TESTING in appropriate ELECTRONIC CONTROLS article. If no DTCs are present, internal leak or component failure may be cause.
CAUTION:
DO NOT maintain stall speed RPM for more than 5 seconds. Transaxle damage may occur.
