Control Module: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Volvo V40 and 2000 Volvo S40. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. To install, reverse removal procedure. Install control module using original bolts. Ground terminal is secured by one of the mounting bolts. Ensure ground terminal is not damaged when tightening bolts. Tighten bolts to 89 INCH lbs. (10 N.m).
  2. Turn ignition switch to ON position and connect negative battery cable. Check SRS warning light to ensure system is functioning properly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  . If fault code exists after replacing control module, clear codes and perform SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  again. If SRS warning light still indicates a malfunction, enter self-diagnostics and retrieve fault codes. See DIAGNOSTICS  .
