Removal & Installation - 4-Cylinder Engines With Trionic T-7 Engine Management Systems

  1. On 9-3 Series, remove bypass pipe and valve. On all models, remove exhaust manifold heat shield. Remove CKP sensor heat shield and sensor, located at right rear of engine. Trace sensor wiring harness to water pipe near brake booster and unplug connector. Note routing of wiring and position of cable ties for installation. Remove CKP sensor. See Fig 1.
  2. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure CKP sensor and "O" ring are clean and that "O" ring is positioned correctly on CKP sensor. Lubricate "O" ring with engine oil before installation. Spray electrical connector with Kontakt 61. Ensure that CKP sensor is mounted flush in block to prevent sensor breaking during tightening.
