Removal & Installation - 9-5 Series

  1. Raise rear seat cushion and fold back carpet. Remove fuel pump cover. Disconnect upper fuel pump connector. DO NOT attempt to unplug connector at fuel pump. Disconnect fuel pressure hose (White) from tank by gently prying yellow retainer hook aside and pulling up on hose. Connect SST 41 61 766 check valve and hose to fuel pressure port on tank. Run other end of hose to a suitable fuel storage container. Connect TECH 2 scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC) and select ACTIVATE: FUEL PUMP. Go to next step.
  2. Carefully disconnect fuel hoses from fuel pump by gently prying yellow retainer hook aside and pulling up on hoses. Raise vehicle on a hoist. Remove rear exhaust section. Separate purge pipe using SST 83 95 261 fuel line separator. Disconnect filler pipe hoses by removing plastic filler pipe retainer screw. Disconnect both handbrake cables at handbrake lever. Place a pillar jack under fuel tank. Remove bolts at front tank straps and lower fuel tank.
