Fitting an additional modification identity plate
CARS AFFECTED
All Saab 9-3 M99.
BACKGROUND
The modification identity plate on a small number of Saab 9-3 cars is now full and an additional plate therefore needs to be fitted.
PARTS REQUIRED
- 49 00 007 Modification identity plate
- 79 72 490 Blind rivet
- 16-30 15 948 Teroson Terotex HV 200 Extra T108
PROCEDURE
- Open the luggage compartment and fold back the carpet.
- Place the modification identity plate as illustrated in Fig 1 without removing the backing paper.
- Mark the location of the drill holes and drill with a 4 mm drill bit.
- Apply corrosion inhibitor in the holes.
- Remove the backing paper and place the modification identity plate so it fits over the holes. Fit the modification identity plate using the blind rivets.
- Apply corrosion inhibitor underneath the floor.
- Vacuum the luggage compartment from drill cuttings and put the carpet back in place. Close the luggage compartment.
