REVISIONS TO PRE-DELIVERY SERVICE PROGRAM
Model(s): Saab 9-3
Section: 1 - Tools/Maintenance
Bulletin No.: 111-2064
Date: April, 1999
CARS AFFECTED
All Saab 9-3 Viggen models.
BACKGROUND
Due to the body design in combination with the relatively low ground clearance of the Saab 9-3 Viggen, the front struts have been fitted with transit protection. The transit protection must be removed during pre-delivery service.
The front towing eye must also be removed and placed in the luggage compartment on certain markets.
PROCEDURE
Copy the pre-delivery service program included with this service information and affix it to page 16 in Service Manual group 1 Service M1998-99.
PROCEDURE (SAAB 9-3 VIGGEN)
Remove the transit support under the rubber protector on the front strut. There are three supports on each side. The tape must first be removed to pull out the top transit See Fig 1 .
IMPORTANT: The car must not be moved on any kind of car transporter once the transit supports have been removed. There is otherwise risk of damaging the bumper due to the design of the body in combination with the relatively low ground clearance.
(US/CA/PA/JP/AU markets only: Remove the front towing eye and place it in the storage bag by the spare wheel in the luggage compartment. Fit the cover found in the glove box. See Fig 2 .
