TCS Throttle Body: Removal

  1. Remove engine covers. Disconnect control rod from throttle. Release bracket fastenings. Remove control plate bracket. Remove hose clamp securing MAF sensor and air cleaner. Disconnect electrical connectors. Remove MAF sensor. Remove idle air control valve hose on intake manifold. Remove hose clamps between intake manifold and throttle body. See Fig 1 .

  2. Lift intake manifold and resonance box as a unit. Remove 2 vacuum hoses from vacuum tank and outer throttle control valve. Disconnect electrical connector from control valve. Remove intake manifold and resonance box. Remove 4 nuts securing main throttle and TCS throttle. Pull out main throttle and disconnect hoses. Disconnect crankcase ventilation hoses. Disconnect throttle body connectors. Carefully lift out vacuum plate. Lift out throttle body. See Fig 2 .
