Removal & Installation (V6)
- Remove engine cover(s). Remove vacuum hoses, wiring conduits, and intake manifold mounting bracket. Disconnect throttle and cruise control cables from throttle lever and bracket. Disconnect brake servo and PCV vacuum hoses. Ensure all hoses are marked for reassembly reference.
- On 2.5L, remove 7 nuts securing upper half of intake manifold. Lift and support upper half of intake manifold. On 3.0L, remove 4 intake manifold bolts. Remove intake manifold. On all models, Plug intake pipes with rags to prevent items from falling into cylinders. Disconnect injector connectors. Remove fuel rail retaining bolts. Using screwdriver, loosen fuel rail. Remove fuel rail. Remove injectors.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Inspect injector "O" rings. Replace as necessary. Coat injector "O" rings with petroleum jelly prior to installation. Tighten intake manifold bolts/nuts to 15 ft. lbs. (20 N.m).
