Fuel Pump Relay

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect DVOM to relay terminal No. 87B and ground. See Figure . Using a jumper wire, ground terminal No. 85 (Violet wire). Replace relay if DVOM does not indicate battery voltage.
  2. Apply battery voltage between terminals No. 85 and 86. Inspect for continuity between relay terminals No. 30 and 87, and between terminals No. 30 and 87B. Replace relay if continuity does not exist for each measurement.
  3. Inspect associated wiring for shorts or opens. Refer to the WIRING DIAGRAMS - 2.3L TURBO article. Repair wiring as necessary.
