Removal & Installation

  1. Relieve fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE  . Remove floor panel in trunk. Unplug wiring connector. Remove hose clamps. Disconnect fuel lines.
  2. Tie fuel lines aside. Use Pump Holder (8394397 ) on fuel pump to hold pump while unscrewing retaining nut. Remove retaining nut.
    CAUTION: Since fuel pump may spring out upon removal, use a safety chain or similar device.
  3. Lift fuel pump from tank. To install, lubricate fuel pump "O" ring with petroleum jelly. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
