Throttle Position Sensor (9000 Series Turbo)

Turn ignition off. Unplug connector from throttle position sensor, located on throttle body. Measure resistance between terminals specified in appropriate TPS RESISTANCE table. Terminals are marked on sensor. Resistance change should be smooth as throttle is opened or closed. Replace sensor if resistance is not as specified.

TPS RESISTANCE (900 SERIES EXCEPT TRIONIC)

Position Ohms
Idle Position (1) 2300-3400
Wide Open Throttle (1) 700-1000
(1) Measure resistance between terminals No. 1 and 3.
TPS RESISTANCE (900 SERIES TRIONIC)

Position Ohms
Total Resistance (1) 1600-2400
Idle Position (2) 800-1200
Wide Open Throttle (2) 2000-3000
(1) Measure resistance between terminals No. 1 and 2.
(2) Measure resistance between terminals No. 2 and 3.
TPS RESISTANCE (9000 SERIES EXCEPT TURBO) (1)

Position Ohms
Fully Closed 2600-3000
Fully Open 1100-1500
(1) Measure resistance between terminals No. 1 and 3.
TPS RESISTANCE (9000 SERIES TURBO) (1)

Position Ohms
Fully Closed 2500
Fully Open 1000
(1) Measure resistance between terminals No. 1 and 3.
