Steering Wheel: Removal

  1. Position front wheels in straight-ahead position. Disconnect battery. Wait at least 20 minutes. Remove 2 screws from back of steering wheel. Remove air bag module/horn pad assembly. Unplug air bag module and horn pad electrical connectors.
  2. Match mark steering wheel and shaft. Remove steering wheel nut. Gently ease steering wheel from shaft to prevent damage to air bag clockspring.
