Fuel Pump Relay

  1. Turn ignition off. Unplug fuel injection ECU connector. Ground ECU harness connector harness terminals No. 20 (Yellow/White wire) and No. 21 (Violet wire). If fuel pump runs, fuel pump relay is okay. If fuel pump does not run, go to step 2).
  2. Remove jumper wires. Remove fuel pump relay. Relay is located on right kick panel, behind trim. Check for voltage at relay socket terminal No. 86 (Brown/White wire). If no voltage, repair Brown/White wire to main relay, or go to MAIN RELAY  .
  3. Check for voltage at relay socket terminal No. 30 (Red wire). If no voltage, repair Red wire to main battery junction on battery bracket.
  4. Reinstall relay. Connect DVOM to relay terminal No. 87B (Green/Red wire) and ground. Using a jumper wire, ground terminal No. 85 (Violet wire). Replace relay if DVOM does not indicate battery voltage.
