Cooling Fan Control Relay (9000 Series)

For models with air conditioning, go to step 5). For models without air conditioning, go to step 2).
Remove relay from socket in panel behind glove box. Check that there is no continuity between terminals No. 30 (Yellow wire on socket) and No. 87 (Green wire on socket). Connect terminals No. 9 (Black wire on socket) and No. 5 (Blue wire on socket) to ground.
Apply 12 volts to terminal No. 15 (Gray wire on socket). Check that there is continuity between terminals No. 30 (Yellow wire on socket) and No. 87 (Green wire on socket).
Leave power connected. After about 10 minutes, relay should open. Check that there is again no continuity between terminals No. 30 (Yellow wire on socket) and No. 87 (Green wire on socket).
Models with air conditioning are equipped with 2 fan control relays. One relay controls high speed operation; the other low speed. To test high speed relay, go to step 6). Go to step 8) to test low speed relay.
Remove relay from socket behind glove box. Check that there is no continuity between terminals No. 30 (Yellow/White wire on socket) and No. 87 (Green/White and White wires on socket).
Connect terminal No. 5 (Blue/White wire on socket) to ground. Connect 12 volts to terminal No. 4 (Gray wire on socket). Check that there is continuity between terminals No. 30 (Yellow/White wire on socket) and No. 87 (Green/White and White wires on socket).
Remove relay from socket in panel behind glove box. Check that there is no continuity between terminals No. 30 (Yellow wire on socket) and No. 87 (Green wire on socket). Connect terminals No. 9 (Black wire on socket) and No. 5 (Blue wire on socket) to ground.
Apply 12 volts to terminal No. 15 (Gray wire on socket). Check that there is continuity between terminals No. 30 (Yellow wire on socket) and No. 87 (Green wire on socket).
Leave power connected. After about 10 minutes, relay should open. Check that there is again no continuity between terminals No. 30 (Yellow wire on socket) and No. 87 (Green wire on socket).
