Air Induction System: Notes
Air drawn in through air cleaner passes through air mass meter to turbo compressor unit (if equipped). Compressed air flows through intercooler, which cools incoming air charge, passing through throttle valve to intake manifold.
To smooth out induction system pulsations when throttle is closed rapidly, a vacuum operated relief valve is mounted on the side of the turbo unit to provide an additional path for incoming air, by-passing intercooler.
