Throttle Position Switch (TPS) Adjustment

NOTE: For testing procedures, refer to G - TESTS W/ CODES or SYSTEM/COMPONENT TESTS article in this section.
  1. Loosen TPS screws. To adjust TPS without using an ohmmeter, position TPS until click is heard just as throttle valve leaves idle position.
  2. If using and ohmmeter, connect ohmmeter leads between TPS terminal No. 3 (Green/Red wire) and terminal No. 2 (Black/White wire). Continuity should be present with TPS at fully closed position and no continuity with throttle valve at off-idle or wide open position.
  3. Adjust as necessary. Tighten TPS adjusting screws and recheck adjustment.
