System Relay (9000 Series)
- Using a jumper wire, connect terminal No. 21 of ECU connector to ground. Check for voltage at terminal No. 9 and No. 2 of air mass meter connector. If voltage is present at air mass meter, system relay and associated wiring is okay. If no voltage is present, go to next step.
- Check for voltage at terminal No. 30 and No. 86 (RED wire) of relay. See Figure . If voltage is not present, check wiring to positive terminal. Connect relay terminal No. 85 to ground. Check for voltage at terminal No. 87 (GRY/WHT wire). If voltage is present, go to next step. If voltage is not present, replace system relay.
- Check wiring between relay terminal No. 85 and ECU connector terminal No. 21. Check wiring between relay terminal No. 87 (GRY/WHT wire) and fuel pump relay terminal No. 86 (through pressure switch). Check wiring between relay terminal No. 87B (BRN/WHT wire) and air mass meter terminal No. 2.
CAUTION:
The following test is to be performed with engine running. Use only a high quality multimeter or approved Saab multimeter when performing voltage checks in the following steps.
