Crankcase Ventilation Systems: Operation

Air is admitted through the engine air filter. It then passes through the filter insert and out through a hose to the flame guard. Air then passes through the crankcase and out a valve cover or cam cover, through a regulation valve and into the intake manifold. Air and fuel vapors are drawn into combustion chamber where they are burned.
